About Predapro
It all started with a young angler named Clayton Camilleri who had a passion for live bait trolling. Every seasoned angler knows the potentials of live bait trolling. If there are predatory fish around the chances are that you will have a very successful fishing day. Clayton knew this potential very well. Unfortunately live bait was not always readily available and with the valuable time spent in searching for bait fish instead of fishing and all the work and resources involved to keep it alive forced Clayton to turn to dead bait trolling.
Dead bait rigging and trolling is an art for it self. Soon Clayton found out that although dead bait was more available than live bait not all dead bait fish are good for trolling. Some of the bait fish are very complicated to rig and very hard to make them swim correctly with a life like swimming action. Besides dead bait trolling has also it’s down time to carefully rig and sew the bait fish correctly.
For these reasons the young angler started wondering if he could design a trolling lure that could rig any bait fish in the least possible time, that is very natural looking for wary predatory fish and that the rigged bait fish could be trolled to elevated trolling speeds with life like swimming action. So he set to work using stainless steel strips as the frame of the lure, pop rivets to hold the diving lip together with the rest of the frame and paper clips as locking pins to hold the bait fish in place. Eventually in the year 2008 after 3 years in designing and re designing, the lure began to take shape.
During 2008 and 2009 the lure was put to rigorous tests in harbours and in open waters. In habours were the fish have the reputation of being very hesitant and unwilling to bite started being caught even out fishing other dead bait trolling methods. Seasoned anglers who were very loyal to their old and proven trolling methods soon started using this new patented trolling lure. Anglers of all ages and from all level of experience welcomed this new trolling lure with open hands since with this new trolling lure the bait fish can now be rigged in less than 5 seconds, higher trolling speed of up to 5 knots with life like swimming action. The results were outstanding. Fish being caught were barracuda, Atlantic bonito, dolphin fish, swordfish, amberjacks, blue fish, wreck fish and even big blue fin tunas of 120 lbs mark and more (catch & release).
The reason for this success is that nothing was rushed to market, but adopted a careful research and development approach with rigorous tests in order to produce this innovative trolling lure. Each individual lure is hand tuned and tested in order to ensure an excellent life like swimming action.
We at Predapro lures are indeed proud of the success and the reputation which our innovative lures are building up in various countries. We commit ourselves in continue our research in maintaining this.
